Brandeis students disrupt meeting with Israeli lawmakers

March 27, 2012

(JTA) -- Brandeis University students disrupted a panel discussion at a Boston-area synagogue featuring Israeli lawmakers and Jewish community leaders.

The students, members of the Brandeis Students for Justice in Palestine group, removed their shirts Monday night in Temple Emanuel in Newton, Mass., to uncover T-shirts that read "apartheid" in Hebrew. They also chanted "Free, free Palestine" and "Israel is an apartheid state and the Knesset is an apartheid parliament!"

Police and security guards removed the students; one student was arrested.

The five lawmakers -- Ofir Akunis of the Likud Party; Lia Shemtov and Faina Kirschenbaum of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party; Ilan Gilon of the Meretz Party; and Ghaleb Majadele of the Labor Party -- were in Boston as part of the Ruderman Fellowship, which educates Israeli politicians about Jewry in America. 

The protesters singled out Akunis and Kirshenbaum for "sponsoring fascist legislation in the Knesset" that limits international funding to nongovernmental organizations, and Kirshenbaum for living in a West Bank settlement.

הלכות נקיון הפסח לגבר   

א.הַיּוֹצֵא בִּיְמֵי נִיסָן וְרוֹאֵה אִילָנוֹת שֶׁלִבְלְבוּ יְבָרֵך "בָּרוּך שֶׁזִיכָּנִי לֲהִסְתוֹבֵב בָּחוּץ בִּמְקוֹם לְנַקּוֹת לְפֶסַח". וְטוֹב שֶׁיַּמְצִיא לִבְנֵי בֵּיתוֹ סִיפּוּר כִּיסוּי הוֹלֵם שֶׁמָא יִּתָפֵס בְּקָלְקָלָתוֹ .

ב.מַתְחִילִין אֶת נִקָּיוֹן הפסח במדפי הספרים. יְאֲבֵּק את ספרי הילדים תחילה ואת ש"ס החתנים באחרוֹנה, שתדיר וממש אינוֹ תדיר – תדיר קוֹדם.

ג. מִיָּד לאחר שׁיסיים לנקות התריסים מבחוץ בִּסְנֵפְּלִינְג ללא חבל, יברך ברכת "הגומל" ולאחריה ברכת "משִׁיב הרוּחַ ומוֹריד הגשם" שכן מובטח הוא שיירד גשם מאובק על התריסים הנקיים בתוך שלוש שעות זמניות. וטוֹב היה עושה חוֹנִי המעגל לו היה מנקה תריסיו תחת לצייר עיגולים בָּחוֹל.

ד. בְּקוּמוֹ מִשׁוּלחָן האוֹכֶל יְקָפֵּץ על רָגְלַיו בִּפְרָאוּת כאילו היה הוא דוֹרך על גחלים לוֹחשות, וינער זרועותיו בפאניקה כמי שכפאוֹ שד, למען יתפטר מן הפירורים שאוּלי נתפסו בבגדיו, שאם לא כן תישמע זעקת "קרישקעס" (פירוריםבלע"ז) עוֹלה ויורדת.

ה. טוֹב שיחלק אדם את ביתוֹ כמתכונת בית המקדש שבירושלים: בָּעֲזָרָה, שׁטרם נוקתה לְפֶסַח, נכנסים כל ישׂראל ואפילו פיתוֹתיהם בידיהם. בהיכל, שׁנוּקה חלקית, נכנסִים רק אלה שׁקִיימו מִצוות נִיעוּר הפירורים (ראה הלכה ט'). ובקוֹדשׁ הקוֹדשׁים, שכבר נתמרק כולו לפסח, תיכנס רק כוהנת גדוֹלה שֶׁל הניקיוֹן, לאחר שׁהתעטפה בלבן. וטוֹב לגדר את קוֹדשׁי הקוֹדשׁים בסרט משְׁטרתי ועליו חקוקות אוֹתיוֹת "והזר הקרב יומת", והפוֹרץ גדר – תִּשָּׁכֵנוּ אִשְׁתוֹ.

ו. בְּשָׁבָּת האחרוֹנה שלפני הַפֶסַח, כשׁרובו שׁל הבית כבר קודשׁ קודשׁים, נוהגים לאכול את ארוחת הַשָּׁבָּת מתחת לשׁולחן שׁבמרתף, ובמקום חלות בוצעים פיתות יבשׁוֹת בבחִינת 'ועִינִיתם את נפשׁותיכם מאוד'. ונקראה שָׁבָּת זו"שָׁבָּת הגדול" על שׁם "האח הגדול", שׁמִי שׁמעֵז בשָׁבָּת זוֹ להזִיז פירור חמץ ממקומו – מודח מן הבית לאלתר.

ז. אין עושין קניות לְפֶּסַח לא מתוך שחוק ולא מתוך קלות דעת, ועל כן יפנה כמחצית היום, יכבוש עצביו, ויביא עמו זכוכית מגדלת לקריאת כל ההכשרים והכיתובים על כל מוצר ותחת כל מדף רענן. ובמיוחד ייזהר הציבור ברכישת המצות, וירכוש מצות מכונה בלבד, ולא מצות "עבודת יד", שבשאר מוצרים "עבודת יד" מעלה היא, אך בְּפֶסַחפחיתות גדולה היא, שטעמה של מצה "עבודת יד" כטעם דיקט שעבר עליו הַפֶּסַח.

ח.מצווה מן המובחר להוסיף לפירורי בדיקת החמץ כהנה וכהנה מוצרים דליקים, ולבזבז כשתיים או שלוש שעות בבהייה בחמץ הנשרף, עד וידוא הריגה. אותם סוציומטים המשליכים חמצם למדורה ומסתלקים מייד, אין שורה עליהם ברכה (ואף אין שורה בבגדיהם ריח ל"ג בעומר).

ט. בכל השנה מתקפחות עדות המזרח, ובימי הַפֶּסַח מתקפחות עדות אשכנז. ושמעתי שרבים מבני אשכנז מתמזרחים בנפול פחד הקטניות עליהם, ונאחזים בדודה רחוקה מ"דרום צרפת" כדי לזכות ולאכול פנכת אורז בפסח. ושמעתי כי יש הדורשים שיתכנסו פוסקי אשכנז כדי לבטל דין קטניות, אלא שעסוקים גדולי הדור בדיןאקונומיקה כשרה לְפֶּסַח, אך עשויה להכיל שאריות לפתית (לאלרגנים), ואין פנאי בידם להתעסק בזוטות. ומכל מקום – המחמיר תבוא עליו ברכה, כאותו אחד שנמנע מאכילת מצה שרויה, קטניות, לפתית, וביצים עם חותמת, וזכה שמת בשביעי של פֶּסַח מרעב
